my solo day trip to san juan, puerto rico

Traveling solo has always been my way of reconnecting with myself, and this trip was no different. The warm Caribbean breeze, the sound of salsa drifting through the streets, and the energy of San Juan immediately filled me with peace. I came here to rest and to gift myself with an experience to reflect and celebrate the efforts I put in completing my first semester of graduate school.

For a while, I’d been drawn to La Botanica Hotel—something about its grounding atmosphere and holistic approach to hospitality called to me. So, I used this celebratory trip to finally experience all that the hotel had to offer, even if just for a day. From the moment I stepped onto the property, I knew this wouldn’t be my last visit. The serene ambiance, intentional design, and emphasis on wellness made it clear—I’ll be returning for a much longer stay.

As I sat in the serenity of the hotel, I continued to dive deeper into The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy. The book offered new insights that aligned perfectly with my reflections on the trip. Below are some excerpts from my journal that day:

Nothing that is meant for you will ever get away.
If we believe an accept [something] as true, it means that desire has already been accomplished and fulfilled. It is already completed, then it’s realization will follow as a thing in the future.

Be faithful to the image in my mind’s eye. One day it will appear in my objective world.
Before I do for anybody else, let me consider myself - check my mental health.

Peace allows the deep things in the heart to surface because there is space and emotional capacity, to work through it. Don’t run - tend to your inner garden.
